Saudi ports were able to achieve a historic leap in the maritime navigation network connectivity index, ranking 16th in the world, out of 187 countries, through the multiplicity of navigation services, which reach 97 services in Saudi ports, linking the Kingdom to about 348 global ports. This came during the UNCTAD report for the second quarter of 2023, which was issued by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and Saudi Arabia had recently achieved progress in the Logistics Performance Index issued by the World Bank (LPI) by advancing 17 places globally, reaching 38th place globally out of 160 countries. . For his part, the Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, expressed this progress, which he described as a qualitative national achievement, stressing the great support enjoyed by the transport and logistics system and the port sector.

The Royal Saudi Naval Forces assumed command of the "Combined Duty 152" of the Royal Bahraini Navy, and the "Ranger" of the British Royal Navy. This came during a ceremony that took place at the headquarters of the US Naval Support Base in the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. Combined Task Force 152 is to enhance maritime security in the Persian Gulf, protect infrastructure in international waters, and combat illegal activities. As for the tasks of the Guardian Force, they are represented in monitoring commercial shipping lanes, providing protection for the force's merchant ships, and deterring countries sponsoring activities that threaten maritime safety.

Dhahran Expo Center in Dammam is preparing to host the Saudi Maritime Conference on September 20/21, which receives support from the global maritime sector before its launch. The conference is held to highlight the enormous potential of the Saudi maritime sector, and the great opportunities offered by maritime logistics services. Pointing to the efforts made in marine survey work in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, which includes a marine survey project using mobile lidar technology. It is worth noting that marine surveying is a branch of applied science that deals with measuring and describing the natural characteristics of oceans, seas, coastal areas, lakes and rivers, as well as studying expected changes over time. The primary purpose of this is the safety of maritime navigation and support of all other maritime activities, including economic development, security, defence, scientific research and environmental protection.
